Don't miss the start of VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavík
/Today, April 10, VCT 2022 will start: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavík. Over the next two weeks, 12 teams from all over the world will compete for a $650,000 prize pool and ranking points. We offer you to get acquainted with the format of the championship, participants, schedule and distribution of the prize fund of the championship.
Format of VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavík
The tournament will be held in two stages:
- Group stage: April 10-13.
- Playoffs: April 14-24.
As part of the group stage of VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavík, eight teams divided into two quartets will face each other.
Group A:
- Fnatic - EMEA Challengers.
- Ninjas in Pajamas - LATAM/BR Playoffs.
- DRX - Korea Challengers.
- ZETA DIVISION - Japan Challengers.
Group B:
- OpTic Gaming - NA Challengers.
- XERXIA - APAC Challengers.
- KRÜ Esports – LATAM Challengers.
- Team Liquid - EMEA Challengers.
All group stage matches will be played in BO3 format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs where they will form a classic double elimination bracket.
Here, the remaining participants will meet with the seeded teams that received direct tickets to the playoffs:
- G2 Esports - EMEA Challengers.
- The Guard – NA Challengers.
- Paper Rex - APAC Challengers.
- LOUD - Brazil Challengers.
Note that earlier the FunPlus Phoenix team was removed from the championship. Riot Games failed to organize the arrival of the team from the CIS to the championship, as a result of which Team Liquid players were invited.
All playoff matches will be played in BO3 format. The exception will be the lower bracket final and the grand final, which will be held in the BO5 format.
Prize pool distribution
Since the exact prize pool of the championship has not yet been revealed, the distribution of ranking points is currently known.
- 1st place: $200,000 + 750 points.
- 2nd place: $120,000 + 500 points.
- 3rd place: $85,000 + 400 points.
- 4th place: $65,000 + 300 points.
- 5th-6th place: $40,000 + 250 points.
- 7th-8th place: $25,000 + 200 points.
- 9th-10th place: $15,000 + 150 points.
- 11th-12th place: $10,000 + 125 points.
Note: FunPlus Phoenix was awarded $25,000 and 200 ranking points.
