FunPlus Phoenix to receive compensation for skipping VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavík

Riot Games has announced that the FunPlus Phoenix team will be compensated for skipping VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavík. The team will receive from the organizers a prize of $25,000 and 200 rating points, comparable for getting into the TOP-8 of the championship.

Following the announcement that FunPlus Phoenix will not be able to compete at VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavík, we have made the decision to award FunPlus Phoenix an award equivalent to a Top 8 finish, which is the lowest place a team could achieve at the event. The team will be awarded 200 ranking points and a $25,000 prize pool.

Team Liquid, which replaced FunPlus Phoenix, will receive rating points and prize money at the end of Masters 1 in full. This means that the team will lose 55 points previously awarded for 4th place in the EMEA playoffs.

Recall that earlier Riot Games issued an official statement announcing changes to the roster of VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavík. Due to travel restrictions around the world related to the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian crisis and the COVID-19 situation, Team Liquid will replace FunPlus Phoenix and take part in the championship in Iceland.

The line-up for VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Masters Stage 1 - Reykjavík is as follows: Team Liquid, Fnatic, G2 Esports, OpTic Gaming, The Guard, XERXIA, Paper Rex, ZETA DIVISION, DRX, KRÜ Esports, LOUD and Ninjas in Pyjamas.
