LEC Versus 2026: GIANTX manage to win with a naked Nexus against Shifters

The second match of the day featured GIANTX against Shifters. As a reminder, all Regular Season matches are played in a Bo1 format, and every team will face each other once, meaning each team will play 11 matches total. Let’s see how the second match of LEC Versus 2026 unfolded.

Game 1 Picks:

  • GIANTX: Rumble, Xin Zhao, Orianna, Kai'Sa, Rakan
  • Shifters: K'Sante, Wukong, Azir, Ezreal, Bard

Both teams started with a very active playstyle, looking to maximize the damage potential of their champions, making the game look dynamic and interesting from the start. Shifters grabbed an early lead, but one mistake cost them dearly against GIANTX's Kai'Sa. This put them in a difficult position and created a massive gap between the ADCs.

However, Shifters managed to find an opening and executed a successful teamfight at the dragon pit. They wiped all five GIANTX champions and clawed their way back into the game. From that point on, Shifters appeared much more organized in teamfights. But they made a fatal error by attempting to end the game with the Baron buff; they were all eliminated, leaving no one to defend their own base. GIANTX capitalized on this mistake and, despite their Nexus being just a few hits away from destruction, emerged as the winners of the match.

This year, the LEC Versus 2026 does not provide a cash prize for winning the tournament. Instead, teams are competing for the opportunity to qualify for the international tournament, First Stand 2026.
