KT Rolster Defeat Gen.G to Secure Spot at Worlds 2025

Although Gen.G had the early gold lead and better map control, the tide turned during the first major teamfight around the dragon. KT came out on top with a clean ace, losing only one champion in the process. From there, the game snowballed out of control. Even though Chovy had incredible farm, it simply wasn’t enough. In the end, KT Rolster closed out the series 3–2 and punched their ticket to Worlds 2025.

It feels like Gen.G may be conserving their strength for Worlds. While winning the Summer Split would be great, it doesn’t seem to be their top priority right now. Canyon, in particular, had a quiet performance this series — a noticeable drop compared to his usual standard. Still, it was a solid showing from Gen.G, and they’ll have another shot at the title as they drop to the lower bracket.
