A thrilling and incredibly close match that was a joy to watch from start to finish. This series was especially crucial for KT Rolster, as a victory meant securing their spot at Worlds 2025.
All five games were neck and neck, with both teams reading each other perfectly. But today, KT Rolster proved to be the stronger side — particularly on the fifth and final map. Although Gen.G had the early gold lead and better map control, the tide turned during the first major teamfight around the dragon. KT came out on top with a clean ace, losing only one champion in the process. From there, the game snowballed out of control. Even though Chovy had incredible farm, it simply wasn’t enough. In the end, KT Rolster closed out the series 3–2 and punched their ticket to Worlds 2025.
It feels like Gen.G may be conserving their strength for Worlds. While winning the Summer Split would be great, it doesn’t seem to be their top priority right now. Canyon, in particular, had a quiet performance this series — a noticeable drop compared to his usual standard. Still, it was a solid showing from Gen.G, and they’ll have another shot at the title as they drop to the lower bracket.
KT Rolster`s jungler Cuzz earned MVP honors for this match, delivering two stellar performances — going 8/0/10 on Jarvan IV, 7/3/7 on Trundle, 0/4/4 on Skarner, 3/2/12 on Nocturne, and 5/2/15 on Wukong.
KT Rolster move forward in the tournament bracket to the Upper Bracket Final, where they’ll face the winner of T1 vs Hanwha Life Esports. Meanwhile, Gen.G drop to Lower Bracket Round 3, where they’ll still have a chance to fight for the Summer Split title.
