G2 Esports Defeat Bilibili Gaming and Advance to the Semifinals of LoL EWC 2025
The second Quarterfinal match of the day featured a long-anticipated showdown between Bilibili Gaming and G2 Esports. For fans of the LEC and G2 in particular, this was a moment to celebrate — especially considering G2 had never beaten Bilibili Gaming before.
Game 1 picks:
- BLG: Sion, Nocturne, Orianna, Kai’Sa, Neeko
- G2: K’Sante, Jarvan IV, Taliyah, Xayah, Rakan
Game 2 picks:
- BLG: Gwen, Xin Zhao, Sylas, Ezreal, Bard
- G2: Jax, Maokai, Azir, Sivir, Alistar
Game 3 picks:
- BLG: Rumble, Vi, Aurora, Kalista, Renata Glasc
- G2: Ornn, Trundle, LeBlanc, Corki, Rell
Although the series went all three games, G2 looked dominant throughout. Their loss in Game 1 came more from misfortune than poor performance — they had full control for most of the match until BLG managed to steal Baron and turn one key teamfight into a game-ending push.
Games 2 and 3, however, were clean and clinical from G2 Esports. With no major mistakes and near-perfect execution, they closed out both games convincingly and secured the series win.
The MVP of the match was Hans Sama, G2’s ADC. His performance exceeded all expectations — especially those of BLG — and played a major role in his team’s victory.
G2 Esports move on to the Semifinals of EWC 2025, where they will face the winner of Gen.G Esports vs FlyQuest. As for Bilibili Gaming, their tournament run ends here, finishing in 5th–8th place.
The League of Legends EWC 2025 runs from July 16 to July 20, bringing together 12 of the world’s best teams to compete for the championship title and a $2,000,000 USD prize pool. With multiple matches happening each day, be sure to follow along for all the latest esports updates.
