LEC Spring 2025

Week 5 of the LEC Spring Regular Season kicked off not only with exciting matches and unexpected results but also with some trash talk. But let’s go through everything in order. All eyes today were on G2 Esports facing GIANTX, as well as Fnatic taking on MKOI.

G2 Esports were the clear favorites in their matchup against GIANTX. However, right from the first map, GIANTX showed incredible preparation against their opponents. After securing a flawless win, GIANTX tasted blood and kept pressing hard into the second map. At first, everything was going their way, but in some moments they got overconfident, and G2 punished them for it. After losing the second map, GIANTX managed to calm down and finish what they started, taking a much-needed victory with a 2-1 score.

The match between Fnatic and MKOI started with some trash talk from Fabian 'GrabbZ' Lohmann, who is the head coach of Fnatic.

The Fnatic vs MKOI matchup turned out to be not just exciting, but a game worthy of a grand final. The crowd was roaring and bursting with emotions! After exchanging wins on the first two maps (1-1), the teams moved to the decisive game. It was a very close battle, with the advantage constantly shifting from one side to the other.

At one point, when MKO I went for Baron, Fnatic split up: part of the team went to push the Nexus, while the others tried to delay MKOI. The plan was solid and almost worked out — but they were literally one hit away from destroying the Nexus. MKOI managed to defend and counterattack, eventually finishing the game and securing the 2-1 victory.
