Zeus is the new top laner for Hanwha Life Esports

Two-time World Champion Choi “Zeus” Woo-je has officially signed with Hanwha Life Esports, replacing top laner Choi "Doran" Hyeon-joon, who has now joined T1. Following the recent buzz surrounding Zeus's transfer, it was revealed that he signed a 1+1 year contract with HLE.

Zeus's Achievements with T1

After starting in T1 Academy, Zeus was promoted to T1's main roster in 2021. Just a year later, in 2022, he became the team’s primary top laner, replacing Kim “ Canna ” Chang-dong. During his two years in the starting lineup, he helped T1 secure numerous tournament victories and established himself as one of the best top laners in the world.

World Championships:

  • 2023 League of Legends World Championship: Champion, defeating Weibo Gaming 3-1 in the finals.
  • 2024 League of Legends World Championship: Champion, overcoming Bilibili Gaming 3-2 in an intense final, solidifying his position as one of the best top laners in the world.

Domestic Success:

  • 2022 LCK Spring Split: Champion, leading T1 to victory against Gen.G with a decisive 3-1 score. This marked Zeus's first major domestic title and highlighted his breakout as a top-tier player.

Individual Accolades:

  • 2022: Included in the All-LCK First Team and recognized as the Best Top Laner of the Year.
  • 2023: Again included in the All-LCK First Team and recognized as the Best Top Laner of the Year.
  • 2023: Awarded the MVP of the World Championship Finals.

This is a condensed list of his accolades during his short tenure at T1 as the top laner, and it does not include runner-up finishes at top-tier tournaments.

New Roster Hanwha Life Esports

The current roster of HLE is as follows:

Choi "Zeus" Woo-je's move to Hanwha Life Esports marks an important milestone in his career, opening up new opportunities. His skills and experience make him a key figure in the team's ambitions to reach the top of the international stage.

Zeus's chances of winning a third World Championship title depend on how effectively the team can leverage his experience and adapt to competitive challenges. If Hanwha Life Esports manages to achieve a high level of play and build strong team synergy, this goal becomes entirely realistic.
