LoL World Championship 2024 (Worlds 2024) is the fourteenth edition of the Worlds tournament series. The epic 14th season of LoL, organised by Riot Games, will take place in October 2024 and will bring together 22 of the best teams from around the globe.

Date and venue of LoL Worlds 2024
Riot Games has announced the location of the LoL World Championship 2024 (Worlds 2024) on the last day of Worlds 2023. The final event of LoL season 14 will be hosted by the UK, with the Worlds 2024 Grand Final to be played at the O2 Arena in London.
The date of Worlds 2024 is still unknown, but the League of Legends World Championship will definitely take place between October and November 2024.
List of participants of Worlds 2024
The League of Legends World Championship 2024 in London will feature 22 teams. You can find the list of Worlds 2024 participants above. As for the number of regional representatives, tentatively it looks like this:
- South Korea (LCK) - 4 slots.
- China (LPL) - 4 slots.
- Europe (LEC) - 3 slots + the possibility of qualifying through the World Qualifying Series.
- North America (LCS) - 3 slots + possibility to qualify through World Qualifying Series.
- Taiwan (PCS) - 2 slots.
- Vietnam (VCS) - 2 slots.
- Japan (LJL) - 1 slot.
- Brazil (CBLOL) - 1 slot.
- South America (LLA) - 1 slot
On the eve of League of Legends World Championship 2024 (Worlds 2024), Riot officially announces the Worlds 2024 participant allocation list. We will update it if anything changes.
Worlds 2024 format
The Worlds 2024 tournament has a hybrid format. Each new stage of the tournament comes with its own format:
Play-In (Dates - TBD):
Round 1:
- 8 teams are divided into two double elimination groups.
- The top two teams from each group advance to the second round of Play-In.
- All matches are in BO3 format.
Round 2:
- The winner of the top seed from each group meets the winner of the losers' seed from the other group.
- Both matches are BO5 format, with the winners advancing to the Swiss stage.
The venue is TBD.
Swiss Stage, aka Group Stage (Dates - TBD):
- 16 teams compete in the Swiss Stage, which consists of five rounds.
- In the first stage, teams are randomly paired with an opponent from another region. Teams then face opponents with the same win-loss record.
- Teams that win 3 matches advance to the play-offs.
- Teams that lose 3 matches are eliminated.
- Pass and knockout matches are played in BO3 format. The rest of the matches are in BO1 format.
The venue is TBD.
Knockout Stage, aka play-offs (2-19 November):
- 8 teams compete on a Single Elimination grid.
- All matches are in BO5 format.
The venue for the World Finals is the O2 Arena in London.
