In anticipation of the imminent start of the professional season in the League of Legends, Riot Games spoke about the details of the 2023 season in Europe. Recall that earlier LEC has undergone structural changes that will become active in the next season.

Schedule and duration of LEC 2023 splits

This year the games will take place 3 days a week. Each week the teams will play on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, however, the final stages of the splits will take place on Sundays.

Each split will last 6 weeks. In addition, the 2023 LEC Season Finals will take place in August and September.

All three splits (Winter, Spring, Summer) of the LEC will be played live at Riot Studios in Berlin. The regional finals will take place in the same avenue, but with a special Season Finals Roadshow.

How tiebreaks will be played if necessary

If three or more teams are tied at the end of a phase, their position in the standings is determined by how they performed against all other teams in their tiebreak.

This means that if one or more teams win/lose more than 50% of the total number of matches against each team in a tiebreak, they are automatically given the higher/lower place(s) available in the tiebreak and a new tiebreak is assigned. announced among the remaining teams.

Championship Points Distribution

With the expansion of the LEC competitive year to three splits, Riot Games has redesigned the allocation of Championship Points required to qualify for the World Championship.
