G2 Esports become champions of LEC Winter 2023

In Europe, the first split of the updated LEC has come to an end. At LEC Winter 2023, 10 teams competed for cash prizes, as well as a place at the Mid-Season Invitational 2023 and LEC Finals 2023.

The best team of the winter run was G2 Esports . The team took the tournament from 4th place in the regular season, after which they confidently closed the group stage with a score of 2-0 in Group B.

In the playoffs, G2 Esports easily outplayed their counterparts. At first, Dylan Falcon's wards beat KOI with a score, and already in the finals of LEC Winter 2023 they left no chance for MAD Lions, winning the match with a score of 3-0.

The victory at LEC Winter 2023 brought G2 Esports $42,429 and tickets to the Mid-Season Invitational 2023, as well as a slot to the LEC Finals 2023, which will be held at the end of the season. The LEC 2023 winter split itself took place from January 21 to February 26 of this year.

Note that G2 became the first team to guarantee a place at the first international event of the season. Later, 2 teams from South Korea and 1 team from LPL, LCS, CBLOL, LJL, LLA, VCS and PCS will join the Samurai. The major tournament will take place after the end of all regional leagues spring splits.
