VCS Spring 2022 in Vietnam starts today!

Add as a Preferred Source

Today, in parallel with the split in Oceania and Japan, the Vietnam A-tier League of Legends tournament: VCS Spring 2022 starts. The tournament was organized by Riot Games and Garena Vietnam. The prize pool is approximately $52,937 USD.

Exactly a month ago, three spring splits started in the largest gaming regions: China with LPL Spring 2022, Korea with LCK Spring 2022 and Europe with LEC Spring 2022. During this time, we have already completed almost 4 gaming weeks.

Prize money

Eight teams from Vietnam will share a total prize pool of $52,937 USD (1,200,000,000 ₫ VND), and what's more, the winner will have the opportunity to compete in an international tournament held between splits.

  • 1st place: 400,000,000 ₫ and a place at the Mid-Season Invitational 2022.
  • 2nd place: 200,000,000 ₫.
  • 3rd place: 150,000,000 ₫
  • 4th place: 125,000,000 ₫.
  • 5th place: 100,000,000 ₫.
  • 6th place: 85,000,000 ₫
  • 7th place: 75,000,000 ₫.
  • 8th place: 65,000,000 ₫.

Tournament Rules and Procedure

In this split, we will see an almost traditional group stage, but unlike the PCS and LJL, which started simultaneously with the VCS Spring 2022, the group stage matches will be in a bo3 format. This brings the tournament to Asian League of Legends standards like LPL or LCK Spring 2022.

According to the results of the groups: only the top four teams will advance to the playoffs and continue to compete for the main prize. And the second half of the teams from the bottom of the final table will go to Promotion.

The group stage will end only after 9 in-game weeks, from February 11 to April.

In the playoffs, absolutely all matches will be in the Bo5 format, just like with the losers bracket, that is, the classic Double Elimination system.
