We continue our look at the second group stage of DreamLeague Season 20, the online tournament that is the second leg of the ESL Pro Tour Dota 2 2023 tournament series. The Eastern European representatives from 9Pandas will face Chinese grandmaster PSG.LGD. Before DreamLeague Season 20, 9Pandas competed in the DPC EEU 2023 Tour 3: Division I. PSG.LGD is the 9th team in the world ranking. The team is experiencing not the best times. In the Chinese region, PDC finished the first round in 1st place, without a chance to beat all their opponents. But in the Lima Major, they failed to achieve high results and the team left the tournament with 9-12th places. The second round of the DPC was also quite good. As a result, they ended up in 2nd place, leaving behind Xtreme Gaming. DreamLeague organization decided to skip it. Berlin major also held not too successfully. They took the same 9-12th position in the table. In the 3rd round, DPC again take the lead in the bottom line.
Though I highly assessed the level of play of 9Pandas, but they continue to suffer defeats. LGD have beaten all their opponents in the second leg except BB, but they are at their best at the moment, so defeat is not that critical, hence a win for the Chinese makes sense to me.
