Welcome to all esports and Dota 2 fans! From June 21 to June 29, 2025, one of the biggest LAN tournaments of the summer — PGL Wallachia Season 5 — is taking place. Sixteen teams will compete for the championship title and a $1,000,000 prize pool. After the third matchday, the standings have become more stable, and the favorites and outsiders have begun to emerge. In this article, we’ll highlight a match from the 2-1 bracket: Team Liquid vs Tidebound. While the teams are preparing for the game, we’ll try to determine the likely winner and provide betting tips.
Team Liquid form
Let’s begin our Dota 2 betting prediction with an analysis of Team Liquid form. This team is one of the most well-known in esports, especially in Dota 2, so there’s a lot we could say — but we’ll focus on the essentials.
We’ll start from the 2023 season. In DPC 2023: WEU Division 1 Tour 1, Team Liquid went undefeated and later secured a Top-2 finish at The Lima Major 2023, despite playing with a stand-in.
The second DPC Tour brought no surprises — Liquid once again took first place, though they did drop one series. On the international stage, Liquid also performed well but continued to play in the shadow of Gaimin Gladiators, who claimed the second Major title that season.
In the third tour, Liquid’s performance dipped slightly, finishing in 4th place — but it was still enough to qualify for the Bali Major 2023. In the grand scheme, this didn’t matter much, as Liquid had already qualified for The International 2023.
Team Liquid roster: miCKe, Nisha, SaberLight, Boxi, Insania.
After a disappointing result at DreamLeague Season 20, where Team Liquid were eliminated in the first group stage, there was a feeling that Bali Major 2023 would also be a less successful showing for them. However, Liquid decided to switch into high gear and play at full strength. The team delivered a solid performance and finished in second place, losing in the grand final to Gaimin Gladiators.
The next major tournament for Team Liquid that year was Riyadh Masters 2023. They completed the Play-In stage with a 3-1-1 record, securing second place in Group A. In the main group stage, they ended with a 3-3-1 record and advanced to the upper bracket of the playoffs. By the end of the biggest tournament of the year, Team Liquid placed Top 2, which is certainly not a bad result — especially compared to their Top 10 finish at DreamLeague Season 21, which followed Riyadh and preceded The International 2023.
At the main event of the year — The International 2023 — Team Liquid started off confidently, taking 1st place in their group with a 3-1-0 series record. In the playoff seeding match, Liquid faced Evil Geniuses. The Peruvians didn’t make much of a splash at TI, and as expected, lost to Liquid with a 0-2 scoreline.
In the first playoff round, Liquid went up against Talon Esports and once again secured a clean victory. However, things didn’t go according to plan afterwards — they were defeated by Team Spirit, and then by Gaimin Gladiators, who were already in the lower bracket. As a result, Liquid finished the year’s most important tournament in the Top 6.
The team concluded the season with a performance at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, where they finished in 3rd place.
In 2024, they played in every event they could, although the start of the season was underwhelming. Team Liquid competed in several Tier-1 tournaments but didn’t achieve any standout results.
Their strong performances resumed at Riyadh Masters 2024, where Team Liquid finally found the right strategies and secured a 2nd place finish. However, the team's biggest triumph came at The International 2024, where Liquid put on a spectacular display, reached the grand final, and swept Gaimin Gladiators 3-0 with ease.
After winning The International, Team Liquid performed well in the first group stage of DreamLeague Season 24, finishing with a 3-3-1 record and taking second place in their group. However, they failed to progress through the second group stage and ultimately finished the tournament in Top 6. Things didn’t improve much after that — another Top 6 finish at BLAST Slam 1, followed by a 2nd place at ESL One Bangkok 2024.
In the 2025 season, Liquid did not participate in so many events, but all of them were great. The team took a place in the top 8 at Fissure Playground #1 and BLAST Slam II. At DreamLeague Season 25, Liquid again missed the prize zone - top 7. Team Liquid's main results so far are the victories at PGL Wallachia Season 3 and PGL Wallachia Season 4, and we wonder if they will be able to continue this trend at PGL Wallachia Season 5?
