Team Falcons defeat Team Liquid 2-0 in the Quarterfinals of Dota 2 EWC 2025
In the final Quarterfinal match of the Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2025, Team Falcons pulled off a surprising 2-0 victory against Team Liquid. Many experts had considered Team Falcons one of the weakest teams in the playoffs, but based on their performance in this match, that assessment now seems questionable.
The team started strong right from the laning stage, quickly taking control of the game. Known for their inconsistency in the past, Team Falcons found their rhythm, bolstered by a bold and effective pick — Primal Beast in the mid lane. This hero dominated its lane and set the tone for a convincing 30-13 victory in Game 1, putting Falcons ahead 1-0 in the series.
Most analysts expected Team Liquid to bounce back and tie the series, especially considering their draft. However, the opposite happened. Team Falcons came out aggressive again in Game 2 and maintained their lead throughout the entire match, sealing the series with a dominant 38-12 scoreline.
The local crowd erupted with joy as their home team secured a spot among the tournament’s top four.
With this win, Team Falcons advance to the Semifinals to face Tundra Esports on July 18.
