Aurora Gaming defeat Virtus.pro 2–0 at the Esports World Cup 2025 (BO2)
Aurora Gaming (Eastern Europe) cruised past fellow EEU squad Virtus.pro with a 2–0 win in Group C of the Esports World Cup 2025, staying undefeated and pushing VP to the bottom of the standings.
Aurora set the tone early in game one with a dominant laning phase and precise map control. Nightfall’s Drow Ranger was untouchable, farming fast and hitting her timings to lead the team to a 29–9 stomp. TORONTOTOKYO's support rotations sealed the deal with perfect positioning and crowd control.
Game two was tighter, but Aurora never lost grip. Kiyotaka’s mid lane performance on Windranger tore through fights with pinpoint shackles and double kills, while Mira and panto controlled vision and objectives. Virtus.pro showed signs of life but couldn’t close the gap, dropping the second map 26–19 after a few key teamfight losses.

The victory brings Aurora to 2–1–0, tied with Tundra Esports for first place in Group C at 5–1. Virtus.pro, now 0–0–3, are officially out of playoff contention with no maps won so far. Tundra and Aurora will meet again on July 11 to fight for top seed, while VP finish their group run winless. Team Yandex, at 1–0–2, remain in the playoff mix but need strong results to stay alive.
