Tundra Esports and Virtus.pro kicked off their Esports World Cup 2025 campaign with a confident 2–0 victory in favor of Tundra in Group C. For 33 and his squad, it was a straightforward best-of-two match and a comfortable win.
In Game 1 of the Tundra–VP clash, Virtus.pro tried to surprise in the draft phase, picking Chaos Knight as a support and Abaddon as a carry. However, Tundra Esports countered with a position one Doom, and Crystallis, with solid team support, quickly gained an early lead and secured the win with little resistance. The final score was 28–13 in favor of Tundra.
Game 2 once again featured a carry Abaddon versus carry Doom matchup, but this time the game was much closer. Still, Tundra's overall dominance became apparent as they closed out the second map in 47 minutes, with a final score of 25–16.
After Day 1 in Group C, there were no surprises — all underdogs suffered defeats. Aurora defeated Team Yandex, and as expected, Tundra had little trouble overcoming Virtus.pro. Based on these results, tomorrow will feature Tundra facing Aurora and VP taking on Team Yandex.
