Prediction on match CS2 G2 Esports - FaZe Clan
Welcome to EGamersWorld.
We continue to follow the action at IEM Katowice 2025. One of the most prestigious tournaments has a group stage where clubs are fighting for play-offs.
Among the contenders for the main stage are G2 Esports and FaZe Clan. However, only one of them will make it to the main stage.
We are trying to find out how the match between the title clubs will end and who will qualify for the play-offs.
Let's go.
FaZe Form
We open the analysis of FaZe - G2 match with the analysis of FaZe form. In this match they play in the status of the favourite with the odds to win around 1.7.
From the main achievements of the last season - getting into the top three at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023 and winning at ESL Pro League Season 17. Also this year FaZe got the award for the 4th season of Intel Grand Slam, enriched by $1,000,000.
Speaking of award tournaments, there was less luck here. Top-12 at IEM Rio 2023, and also Top-4 at IEM Dallas 2023. At the only Major e in the season FaZe did not cope with the tension, but made it to TOP-8.
Before the Long Conference IEM Cologne 2023 they attended two tournaments of BLAST series: Spring Final 2023 and Fall Groups 2023. At the Finals they were ranked Top 6, and at the Fall Groups 2023 they were in the top three, earning themselves a slot at the Autumn Finals.
- FaZe Clan: karrigan, rain, Frozen, EliGE, broky.
Despite the ubiquitous Reshuffle and rather "average" results for the year, FaZe didn't change the main roster. However, there were some substitutions: FaZe presented a new coach, who became the legendary Pole NEO. On his post he replaced the legendary RobbaN and it affected FaZe's gameplay in IEM Cologne 2023, where FaZe took the top-12.
The setbacks continued from there onwards. At Gamers8 2023 FaZe Clan took a similar place (9-12), Ledgeiv at the Long Segment of the Vp tournament with the score 2-0.
Things didn't go too well at ESL Pro League Season 18. FaZe made it to the play-offs on the top grid of Group C, beating 9Z Team and Fnatic, but in the match for seeding in the main stage they lost to NaVi with the score 0-2. However, FaZe didn't manage to play long at ESL Pro League Season 18: in the first play-offs match, which for FaZe started from the second stage, the team met MOUZ. The future EPL champions sent FaZe Clan home. As a result FaZe found themselves on the 9-12th place of the top tournament.
FaZe rehabilitated quite quickly. Already at IEM Sydney 2023 they triumphed with the victory over CoL in the grand final.
Thunderpick World Championship 2023 FaZe Clan have a great time. The titular European club passed the group stage without problems becoming the best team of the quartet B, and then took part in the play-offs of the championship.
The first opponent for FaZe in the play-offs of Thunderpick World Championship 2023 was MOUZ. A serious opponent, but FaZe coped with it: 2-1 in favour of the champions of IEM Sydney 2023.
At CS Asia Championship 2023 FaZe confidently made it to the play-offs through Group B. Having taken the unquestionable TOP-1 position the team went directly to the semi-finals of the tournament. FaZe then went head-to-head: first they defeated ENCE 2-1 and in the grand final they defeated MOUZ 2-0.
One of the most stable teams of the season has a pretty extensive record in the first half of the year. However, it predominantly consists of "near" top results.
From the main achievements - getting into the top three at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023 and winning at ESL Pro League Season 17. Also this year FaZe got the award for the 4th season of Intel Grand Slam, enriched by $1,000,000.
Speaking of award tournaments, there was less luck here. Top-12 at IEM Rio 2023, and also Top-4 at IEM Dallas 2023. At the only Major e in the season FaZe failed to cope with the tension, but made it to the TOP-8.
At CS Asia Championship 2024 FaZe confidently made it to the play-offs through Group B. Having taken unquestionable TOP-1 the team went directly to the semi-finals of the tournament. Then FaZe went head-to-head: first they defeated ENCE with the score 2-1 and in the grand final they won MOUZ with the score 2-0.
Next, FaZe had a series of "failures". They finished TOP-8 at EPL Season 19, TOP-6 at IEM Dallas 2024 and BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2024, TOP-8 at Esports World Cup 2024 and TOP-12 at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024.
At IEM Cologne 2024, FaZe Long Sogpeg started off with a win over Team Liquid, but went on to Ledge or Vitality in the play-offs. After falling into the bottom set of IEM Cologne 2024, FaZe outscored Falcons 2-0, and then won their best match of the tournament in a bye, comingback against Liquid from a 3-12 deficit. However, the momentum was not enough: FaZe lost to sAw and left the tournament on top-6.
Later FaZe played at BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2024, where they took TOP-1-2.
At ESL Pro League S20 FaZe failed in the first round of Group A, losing to Sangal Esports, and then cameback through the middle set, beating FlyQuest, NiP. However, the comeback lasted for a long time, because after the meeting with CoL FaZe Clan left the championship on 12-18 lines.
After the failure at ESL Pro League S20, FaZe took the top 4 at BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2024, and then - Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024 with the final top 8.
BLAST Premier: World Final 2024 met in Group A, where they played to a 1-1 score. They first lost to MOUZ, but then snatched a win from NaVi in a match for life at the tournament. However, in the play-offs Ledge and Team Spirit finished in the top 6.
At PW Shanghai Major 2024: European RMR A, FaZe Clan beat C9 and Falcons, and then Fnatic, which put them in the Major. At the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, FaZe Clan beat Wildcard and Heroic, but lost to Heroic. Then Ledge and G2, but made it to the play-offs by shutting out FURIA in the deciding match. Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 playoffs started with a rather unexpected victory over Vitality in a difficult match. However, it got better as FaZe knocked out one of the main tournament favourites - G2 Esports - in a very tense 2-0 series. The grand final was a little short: 1-2 against Spirit.
In the 2025 season they debuted with an appearance at BLAST Bounty Season 1. They finished in the top 16.
Directly at IEM Katowice 2025, FaZe Clan Long Clan started with the matches of the top grid of Group A, where they defeated BIG, but lost to Vitality.

Next were Overpass with 8 matches and 5 wins. Nuke (7 matches, 4 wins), Inferno (9 matches, 5 wins). Worse is Ancient with 3 wins in 6 matches, and worst of all was Anubis. His FaZe was picked 7 times, but played with a winrate of 42%.
Not playing on Vertigo.
G2 Esports Form.
We continue the analysis of the match G2 - FaZe with the analysis of G2 form. In this match "Samurai" play the second number with the odds to win around 1.9.
After a frankly weak performance at EPL Season 17 G2 Esports played at BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023. In Paris NiKo and company had a real fiasco, as the tournament for them ended at the stage of TOP-14, which certainly did not fit into the plans of G2.
- G2 Esports line-up: huNter, m0NESY, malbsMd, Snax, HeavyGod.
Before ESL Pro League Season 18, G2 Esports made their mark on several other major tournaments. These were BLAST Premier: Spring Finals and Fall Groups, where G2 took top 4 and top 8 respectively.
Next up was IEM Cologne 2023 and finally a win. In the Grand Final they beat ENCE 3-1, thus taking another IEM title for the year.
The last championship was Gamers8. The biggest commercial tournament of the season ended with G2 Esports in the top 4.
G2 Esports started off ESL Pro League Season 18 with a betting tirerable win. They beat Lynn Vision 2-0 in their opening match, but to be fair, they were close to a fiasco on the first map. However, G2 Esports subsequently made it to the play-offs, and straight into the quarter-finals, where they met MOUZ. The Mice outplayed G2 Esports and later became EPL S18 champions.
G2 Esports attended two more events before competing at BLAST Premier: World Finals 2023. These were BLAST Premier: Fall European Showdown 2023 and IEM Sydney 2023. Both tournaments saw the team finish in the Top 4 stage. There was also CCT Online Finals #5, where G2 showed a frankly mediocre result. The titular European club failed to make it to the Top 2 and get a slot to the Global Finals, and settled for only Top 4.
Prior to the PGL CS 2 Major Copenhagen 2024 Europe RMR G2 Esports played at three top tournaments before the Long Convergence PGL CS 2 Major Copenhagen 2024 Europe RMR G2 Esports. BLAST Premier: World Final 2023, BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024 and IEM Katowice 2024 and they finished in the top 6. Looks good, but it's still not the same for the G2 Esports level.
Then PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR A G2 Esports played at their level. The level that you expect from them, i.e. Top 2 and a slot in the Copenhagen CS2 Major Legends.

Next was a match against Team Spirit, which the Samurai won again, beating one of the strongest teams in the world with a score of 2-1. Later G2 defeated Vp, but in the grand finals Ledge and NaVi with the score 1-2.
Further G2 Esports played almost all top tournaments on Counter-Strike 2. They played at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024, where they finished in TOP 1-4, as well as at IEM Cologne 2024, where they finished in TOP 6.
At ESL Pro League Season 20, the team won Group B, beating KOI, 3DMAX and MIBR. In the play-offs, they went straight to the quarter-finals, where they defeated Liquid. However, G2's path was interrupted at the TOP-4 stage: they defeated NaVi, who later became the tournament champions.
A little later, G2 managed to get revenge on NaVi by defeating Born to Win in the grand finals of BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024. However, it was not possible to translate the victories at the autumn finals into a winning streak, because at the IEM Rio Masters 2024 G2 Esports took the TOP-13-16.
However, G2 Esports went on to play at BLAST Premier: World Final 2024, where they triumphed, winning another trophy at the BLAST Championship Series. In the final, they stomped Spirit by a score of 3-0.
The way to the Major at G2 Esports Long started with a victory over NiP. Then they beat 9 Pandas without any problems. Predicted result of FaZe - G2 Esports at IEM Katowice 2025
In this match I expect an equal game. Both teams are going through a period of adaptation to the new roster, which is evident from their performance on the Long Run of the season. Ideal conditions for Bo3? Quite possible, but I see FaZe winning.
Result: FaZe victory.
