BC.Game’s campaign in the online qualifiers for IEM Rio 2026 began with a defeat, despite the presence of star AWPer s1mple and the debut of the team’s updated lineup. In the opening-round match, BC.Game fell to Ursa, failing to convert their chances in a hard-fought two-map series. Even a relatively solid performance from the Ukrainian sniper was not enough to keep the refreshed roster out of the lower bracket, where the team will now have no margin for error.

Map veto

  1. Ursa removed Ancient
  2. BC.Game removed Mirage
  3. Ursa picked Dust2
  4. BC.Game picked Anubis
  5. Ursa removed Inferno
  6. BC.Game removed Nuke
  7. Overpass was left over

The series kicked off on Dust2, where Ursa held a narrow edge in the first half on the T side, leading 7:5. After the side switch, BC.Game managed to disrupt their opponents’ momentum and push the game into overtime, but ultimately came up short, losing the map 14:16.

On their own pick, Anubis, BC.Game were unable to find their rhythm. From the opening rounds, Ursa set the pace and maintained full control of the map, never allowing their opponents to seize the initiative. The map ended 13:11 in Ursa’s favor.

At the end of the match, torox was named the MVP with a 1.34 rating.

As a result, BC.Game lose their first match of the IEM Rio 2026 online qualifiers. Despite s1mple’s efforts — he finished the series with a 1.07 rating — the team drops to the lower bracket, where they will face the loser of the EYEBALLERS vs Nemesis matchup. The IEM Rio 2026 Global Qualifier runs from January 21 to 23, with only two of the 16 teams earning spots at the main event.
