Passion UA confidently defeat fnatic and continue their run at Budapest Major 2025 Stage 2

Passion UA secured a confident 2:0 victory over fnatic in an elimination match at StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 Stage 2. The Ukrainian team controlled the flow of both maps, keeping their hopes alive in the 2-2 pool, while fnatic exit the tournament in 12–14th place.

Overpass (13:11 Passion UA)

Starting on their own map pick, Passion UA immediately took control, winning key rounds early on. Their aggressive T side allowed them to dominate most of the half and close it out 8:4. After switching sides, fnatic managed to regain momentum, stringing together five rounds in a row to take a 9:8 lead. Despite fnatic applying pressure and trying to turn the game around, the final three rounds went in favour of Passion UA, who closed out Overpass 13:11.

Inferno (13:7 Passion UA)

On their opponent’s pick, Passion UA once again started strong, quickly establishing control of the map. Playing CT in the first half, they secured 11 rounds. Once fnatic switched to defence, they managed to partially come back with a six-round streak, but it wasn’t enough — Passion UA comfortably claimed the remaining two rounds to finish the series 2:0.

Match MVP

The best player of the match was hallzerk, who recorded 77.9 ADR, +3.98% Swing, and a 1.34 rating.

fnatic entered the match as favourites to survive but ultimately fall short, finishing 12–14th at StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 Stage 2 and earning a $10,000 prize. Passion UA, meanwhile, secure a crucial win that keeps them in the competition and allows them to continue their fight in the 2-2 bracket. StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 Stage 2 runs from November 29 to December 2, with only 8 of the 16 teams advancing to the third stage.
