B8 Fall to M80 at the Start of StarLadder Budapest Major 2025: Comeback Not Enough on Mirage
B8 began their StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 run with a narrow defeat to M80 on Mirage (11:13). The Ukrainian squad struggled early on the T side but managed to bring the game back to life in the second half thanks to a standout performance from kensizor. Despite the comeback attempt, B8 open the stage with a 0-1 record, while M80 move forward in the 1-0 bracket.
Mirage (11:13 M80)
The start of Mirage proved difficult for the Ukrainian team. B8 began on the T side and couldn’t secure a foothold in the half. Disorganized site executions and M80’s aggressive pressure allowed the North American lineup to close the first half 10:2. Switching to the CT side, B8 managed to fight their way back into the game. With kensizor in excellent form — including multiple quad-kills — the team nearly equalized at 11:12. However, M80 prevented the map from going into overtime and sealed the victory 13:11.
Match MVP
Despite the loss, kensizor was the standout player of the match. While his efforts didn’t bring B8 the win they hoped for, his numbers were outstanding: 101.1 ADR, +4.21 Swing, and a 1.53 rating.
Unfortunately, B8 begin the first stage of StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 with a loss and now sit at 0-1. M80 secure their win and continue in the 1-0 bracket. More Bo3 matches lie ahead, giving B8 a chance to improve their position. StarLadder Budapest Major Stage 1 runs from November 24 to 27, where 16 teams compete for 8 spots in the next stage.
