
Imperial advance to Stage 2 of the StarLadder Budapest Major after a confident 2-0 victory over NRG
Imperial convincingly defeated NRG in a do-or-die match, securing their place in Stage 2 of the StarLadder Budapest Major. Thanks to a stable showing on Nuke, dominant play on Train, and a standout performance from noway, the Brazilian squad closed the series 2-0 and finished the group stage with a 3-2 record, while NRG fell just short of continuing their run.
Nuke (8:13 Imperial)
On Nuke — Imperial’s map pick — the first half was fairly close. NRG started with partial dominance on the CT side, but Imperial managed to equalize the score. In the second half, NRG struggled to produce an effective T side and ultimately lost the map 8:13.
Train (5:13 Imperial)
On NRG’s map pick, Imperial looked even more confident. Starting on the CT side, they completely controlled the pace of the game, taking a dominant 10:2 lead in the first half. NRG opened the second half with three consecutive rounds, but Imperial quickly shut down any comeback hopes and closed Train 13:5.
