FURIA stops paiN and becomes the first finalist of BLAST Rivals 2025
FURIA confidently marches into their third consecutive final after defeating paiN in the semifinals of BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 2. Following a crushing 13–3 win on Nuke and a tense Overpass, where FalleN’s squad closed out the map 16–12, the “panthers” secured their spot in the grand final and a chance to fight for the $125,000 top prize.
Nuke (13:3 FURIA)
It seems paiN made a mistake by picking Nuke into FURIA. The “panthers” dominated from the very first rounds, while paiN managed to take only three rounds in the first half. Coming back from a 9–3 scoreline is absolutely possible, but paiN failed to capitalize on their T side. Without winning a single round in the second half, paiN fell 3–13.
Overpass (16:12 paiN)
On their opponent’s map pick, paiN looked far more aggressive. They built a strong 8–4 lead, largely thanks to biguzera’s proactive play. In the second half, paiN maintained control and extended the score to 11–4. However, in round 16, FURIA managed to shift the momentum and take full control of the map. They strung together seven straight rounds, evening the score at 11–11. paiN attempted to close out the map before overtime, but FURIA wouldn’t allow it. KSCERATO and company pushed the game into extra rounds, where FURIA didn’t drop a single round, securing the map 16–12.
Match MVP
The best player of the semifinal was KSCERATO. His outstanding 111.0 ADR, +11.7% Swing, and an incredible 2.1 rating helped FURIA secure a crucial victory and a place in the final.
paiN finish their tournament run in 3rd–4th place, earning $40,000 in prize money. FURIA advance to the grand final, where they will face the winner of Falcons vs Vitality. This marks the team’s third consecutive final after Thunderpick and IEM Chengdu. BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 2 runs from November 12 to 16, featuring a total prize pool of $350,000, with the champion taking home $125,000 and 2 Freq. Flyer Tokens.
