HEROIC officially announces roster changes after BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025
HEROIC has officially confirmed upcoming changes to its CS2 lineup following the conclusion of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. Spanish AWPer Alvaro " SunPayus " Garcia and Finnish coach Eetu " sAw " Saha will be leaving the team and continuing their careers together in G2 Esports, having already signed contracts with the organization.
SunPayus joined HEROIC earlier this season and quickly established himself as a key figure in the roster. Prior to that, he made a name for himself at ENCE, delivering strong performances at major events like IEM Cologne and the ESL Pro League. sAw, one of Europe’s most respected coaches, had previously worked with SunPayus in ENCE and helped stabilize HEROIC during a turbulent time.
This move marks a major shift for HEROIC, signaling a new chapter for the organization. Meanwhile, G2 appears to be preparing for a post-Major rebuild — and the SunPayus–sAw duo could bring both firepower and strategic consistency.
It will be interesting to see how this shakeup impacts G2 Esports, a team that has struggled to maintain top form. Can they finally lift another trophy soon — and perhaps more importantly, which current G2 player will make way for the new arrivals?
BLAST Austin Major 2025 takes place from June 3 to 22 in Austin, Texas, with a total prize pool of $1.25 million.
