The first day of the Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2024, the LAN Championship in Germany, has come to an end. Yesterday, the first round of the top grid of the Play-In stage featured eight duels between the teams that failed to get into the group stage directly. We will tell you about which teams made it to the next round, and who lost the right to make a mistake.

The first day of IEM Cologne 2024 was marked by a fairly high level of competition, with the rare exception of a few teams. It all started with victories in full bo3 series of such participants as BIG and SAW. The Germans outplayed FlyQuest (Ancient - 14-16, Inferno - 13-10, Vertigo - 13-11), and the Portuguese defeated The MongolZ (Anubis - 16-13, Ancient - 5-13, Dust 2 - 13-5).

Also worthy of attention of all fans of Latin American CS2 clash FURIA Esports and Imperial Esports. In a colourful derby FalleN and his teammates were able to come back into the game after losing on the first map and get two wins in a row, and on Inferno the team did not lose a round (Dust 2 - 3-13, Nuke - 13-11, Inferno - 13-0).

Among the expected results it is worth noting that Team Liquid and Complexity Gaming managed to get to the second round of the top grid, and 9z Team easily outlasted 3DMAX on two maps (Anubis - 13-3, Nuke - 13-4). All in all, the fans were able to watch a rather expected, but competitive game.
