HEROIC Calls in Woro2k as Stand-In for IEM Cologne Amid Degster's Visa Issues

HEROIC has announced that Volodymyr "Woro2k" Veletniuk will be stepping in as a substitute for the team at IEM Cologne, which kicks off with the Play-In stage on August 7. The 22-year-old Ukrainian player will replace Abdul "degster" Gasanov, who is unable to participate due to ongoing visa issues.

Woro2k is best known for his time with Monte, a team he joined in July 2022. During his tenure, Monte made a surprising run to the quarter-finals of the Paris Major, earning them a spot in the top 10 of the world rankings. However, Woro2k parted ways with the organization during the summer break this year.

The announcement from HEROIC comes shortly after they confirmed that degster will miss at least the start of IEM Cologne. According to HEROIC, "Both degster and the organization did everything required; however, delays and other unforeseen circumstances occurred."

HEROIC will begin their IEM Cologne journey in the Play-In stage against MIBR, with BetBoom and 9z also in their bracket.
