How xQc Won Nearly Twice the IEM Dallas Prize Pool with a Spontaneous Bet

On June 2, the Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2024 Counter-Strike 2 tournament concluded with G2 Esports claiming the trophy. The champions walked away with a $100,000 prize, while the runners-up, Team Vitality, earned $42,000.

However, these sums seem insignificant compared to the earnings of Felix Lengyel, better known as xQc. Felix shared that he spontaneously decided to watch the tournament final and enjoyed it immensely. Moreover, he placed a $100,000 bet on the match's outcome based on his prediction.

Whether it was intuition or his deep knowledge of esports, xQc hit the jackpot, winning an astounding $443,662. Interestingly, the total prize pool for IEM Dallas was $250,000, meaning Felix earned almost twice as much as all the participating teams combined.

The EGW administration reminds everyone that betting should be seen as a form of entertainment, not a way to make money. Nonetheless, xQc's situation turned out to be quite amusing.
