Esports World Cup Announces Exclusive Invites for Global Teams in Upcoming Closed Qualifiers in Riyadh!
Bogdan LashchenkoThe Esports World Cup organizers have unveiled the list of teams invited to the closed qualifiers, a precursor to the main tournament scheduled for mid-July in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
These qualifiers, slated for April 18-20, will feature competitions across six regions. Each region will host four teams battling for a single spot in the main event. The closed qualifiers will follow the open qualifiers, which are set to take place from April 16-18.
Teams that recently excelled at the PGL Major in Copenhagen have secured invitations based on their improved standings in the ESL World Ranking. Notably, Cloud9 and Eternal Fire, both quarter-finalists at the Major, will compete in the European qualifiers.
From South America, Imperial and paiN Gaming have been invited following their progress to the Elimination Stage in Copenhagen. Similarly, TheMongolz and Lynn Vision, the major teams from Asia, have also received invites.
In North America, the Legacy team, which recently incorporated Jake "Stewie2K" Yip as a temporary substitute for Marcelo "coldzera" David, will participate alongside M80. In Oceania, invites have been extended to FlyQuest and Bad News Kangaroos.
