Valeriy "b1t" Vakhovskiy has been named the HLTV Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Esports World Cup 2024 after dominating maps two and three in the grand final against G2.

The Ukrainian sharpshooter was initially third in the MVP race but capitalized on quiet performances from Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov to clinch the individual accolade in the last moments.

In Natus Vincere's map wins, b1t averaged a 1.48 rating, with peaks of 1.96 against FURIA, 1.54 against MOUZ, and 1.45 and 1.74 against G2 in the final.

Even excluding the first round, where b1t dominated the lower-ranked FURIA, he maintained a higher rating in his team's playoff map wins (1.41) than both w0nderful (1.39) and NiKo (1.39). NiKo came closest, ending seven of his ten maps above a 1.25 rating, but he dropped off in the critical last BO3, even inflating his grand final numbers in round losses and anti-ecos on Ancient.

b1t Named MVP of Esports World Cup 2024 After Dominant Performance Against G2

Combining b1t's dominance of Apartments on Inferno and Lobby on Nuke in the Grand Final, it's clear why he was named MVP. This is b1t's first career MVP after coming close several times behind Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev during NAVI's dominant run in late 2021, cementing him as the team's franchise player in s1mple's continued absence.

This wasn't the first grand final he took over this year, having similarly dominated FaZe at the PGL Major Copenhagen with a 2.16 rating on Inferno. However, this time he maintained strong form throughout to keep himself in the MVP conversation and seized the opportunity as others fell behind.

In his seventh Big Event triumph, it was finally b1t's turn to shine as the best player of the tournament, an achievement even more impressive given his challenging anchor roles on the CT side.
