Eternal Fire knocks out MIBR with ESL Pro League Season 17

The MIBR team lost to Eternal Fire with a score of 0:2, thus leaving the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 17. The Brazilian team suffered a third defeat, having completed their participation in the competition. In turn, the Eternal Fire team made it to the final of the "Last Chance" bracket, where they will meet the winner of the fnatic match - IHC Esports.

The final match of the game day started on the Anubis map, which turned out to be the choice of the Turkish team. At the same time, Eternal Fire players immediately seized the initiative on the server, starting to dismantle the opponent's defense and increase their lead. In turn, the Brazilian team was only enough for five rounds, which was not enough for a proper fight - 10:5. After the side switch, MIBR failed to return, while Eternal Fire confidently finished playing on defense and took the lead in the series — 16:10.

Next, the teams moved to the Vertigo map, which became the choice of MIBR. Here the situation developed in a similar way, as the Brazilians again showed weak defense, while the Eternal Fire players confidently closed the half in the attack and got a twofold advantage — 10:5. In the second half, MIBR tried to return to the game, but it turned out to be too late. As a result, Eternal Fire managed to put the squeeze on the opponent and make it to the next round of the "Last Chance" bracket — 16:11.

ESL Pro League Season 17 runs from February 22 to March 26 in Malta. As part of the championship, 32 teams from the CIS, Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and Oceania are competing for a total prize pool of $850,000, as well as tickets to IEM Cologne 2023 and BLAST World Final 2023 for the winner.
