G2 Esports advances to the playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 17

The G2 Esports team beat fnatic with a score of 2:1, thanks to which they made it to the playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 17. In turn, keita's wards went to the "Last Chance" bracket, where tomorrow, February 26, they will meet with IHC Esports. We also note that a little earlier, Evil Geniuses suffered a third defeat and took the last place in the championship.

The second match of the game day started on the Vertigo map, which, as expected, turned out to be fnatic's choice. However, G2 Esports players were clearly ready for such a scenario, having analyzed all the opponent's strategies in advance. As a result, keita's wards didn't come up with anything in the attack, having received an unbearable rout - 11:4. After the switchover, fnatic never returned to the game, while G2 Esports confidently finished playing in attack and took the lead in the series — 16:8.

Then the teams moved to the Nuke map, which became the choice of G2 Esports. Contrary to expectations, the situation turned upside down, as fnatic now began to show excellent preparation for the opponent. With this, the “samurai” could not come up with anything, who recorded the defeat - 12:3. After the side switch, G2 Esports players did not return to the server, while fnatic got the necessary rounds and equalized the score in the series — 16:4.

Everything was decided on the Inferno map, where G2 Esports, having started on defense, managed to quickly take control of the game and get a twofold advantage — 10:5. In the second half, fnatic failed to catch on to the game, as the Samurai managed to show their character and hold on to the final victory — 16:9.

ESL Pro League Season 17 runs from February 22 to March 26 in Malta. As part of the championship, 32 teams from the CIS, Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and Oceania are competing for a total prize pool of $850,000, as well as tickets to IEM Cologne 2023 and BLAST World Final 2023 for the winner.
