The Evil Geniuses team lost to IHC Esports with a score of 1:2, thus completing their performance in the ESL Pro League Season 17. This is the third defeat for the North American team, which occupies the last line and earns $4,000. In turn, the IHC Esports team went to the semi-finals of the "Last Chance" bracket, where they will play with the loser of the match G2 Esports — fnatic.

The opening match of the game day started on the Inferno map, which turned out to be the choice of the Mongolian team. But if the starting segment was left for the players of Evil Geniuses, then closer to the change of sides, the Mongols returned to the fight and secured the minimum lead — 8:7. In the second half, "Evil Geniuses" did not bother to compete with the opponent, while IHC Esports showed exemplary defense and took the lead in the series - 16:10.

Then the teams moved to the Overpass map, which became the choice of Evil Geniuses. Here the situation turned upside down, as the North Americans managed to impose their game and closed the first half with a twofold advantage - 10:5. After the side switch, the players of IHC Esports were no longer able to wake up, while Evil Geniuses confidently finished playing on defense and turned the series to the destroyer — 16:6.

Everything was decided on the Nuke map, where the Mongolian team began to correct the situation. In turn, Evil Geniuses showed an uncertain defense, allowing the opponent to get a twofold advantage — 10:5. After the side switch, the intrigue did not appear on the server, as IHC Esports players quickly closed the half on defense and eliminated Evil Geniuses from the tournament - 16:6.

ESL Pro League Season 17 runs from February 22 to March 26 in Malta.
