All participants of the IEM Katowice 2023 playoffs have been determined
9701The group stage of IEM Katowice 2023 has come to an end, as a result of which the teams G2 Esports, Heroic, Team Vitality, Natus Vincere, Outsiders and Team Liquid made it to the playoffs of the tournament. The remaining six participants will compete for the right to become the winner of the championship in the grand final, which will be held on Sunday, February 12.
Group A
The strongest team in group A was the G2 Esports team, which turned out to be stronger than BIG (2:0), FaZe Clan (2:0) and Natus Vincere (2:0) on their way to get a direct ticket to the semifinals. The Ukrainian team Natus Vincere made it from the second line to the playoffs, which started with two wins over Cloud9 (2:0) and Team Liquid (2:0), but lost to G2 Esports (0:2) in the group's grand final and received place in the 1/4 finals. The last playoff participant from group A was the North American Team Liquid, which, after falling into the lower bracket after losing to Natus Vincere (0:2), outplayed Team Spirit (2:1) and FaZe Clan (2:1), making it to quarter-final.
Group B
The winner of group B was the Danish team Heroic, which during the group stage defeated Complexity Gaming (2:1), OG (2:0) and Team Vitality (2:0) to reach the semi-finals of the competition. The second team of the group was Team Vitality, which, after beating Ninjas in Pajamas (2:0) and fnatic (2:1), lost to Heroic (0:2) to advance to the 1/4 finals. The third slot in the playoffs from group B went to the Outsiders team, which, despite the initial loss to fnatic (1:2), turned out to be stronger than Ninjas in Pajamas (2:1), OG (2:0) and Complexity Gaming (2:0). 1), having received a ticket to the 1/4 finals of the competition.
