Movistar Riders and SAW received invitations to OMEN WGR European Challenge 2023

Tournament operator Hyped has unveiled the first entries for its next OMEN WGR European Challenge 2023. Invitations have gone to teams Movistar Riders and sAw , who are finalists in last year's OMEN WGR European Challenge 2021.

Four more participants will be announced before the start of the event. In addition, two slots in the tournament will go to the winners of the closed qualifier, which will be held online from January 12 to 14.

The Portuguese team SAW successfully finished last season, becoming the winner of ESL Masters España Season 12 and ESL Challenger League Season 43: Europe. Thanks to these achievements, the team received a ticket to the ESL Pro League Season 17: European Conference.

In turn, Movistar Riders continues to experience a protracted crisis. After the summer reshuffles, the Spanish team failed to find themselves, having failed absolutely all the championships.

This will be the fourth championship of the OMEN WGR Challenge series. While the first iteration took place in the summer of 2020 for Portuguese teams, the next two championships took place last year and the year before, with Movistar Riders and Imperial Esports being the winners.

OMEN WGR European Challenge 2023 will take place from January 26 to 29 online. As part of the championship, eight teams from Europe will compete for a total prize pool of €15,000.
