Team Liquid lost to Team Spirit with a score of 1:2, thus leaving IEM Rio Major 2022. The North American team took 9th-11th place and earned a prize of $20,000. In turn, the "dragons" advanced to the playoffs of the tournament, where they will play against Heroic in the quarterfinals.

The final meeting of the Legends Stage started on the Vertigo map, which became the choice of Team Spirit. But if the starting segment was left for the North Americans, then the “dragons” groped for their game and got a two-fold advantage in the score — 10:5. After switching sides, Team Spirit players instantly killed the intrigue, and at the same time took the lead in the series — 16:10.

Next, the teams moved to the Mirage map, which turned out to be the choice of Team Liquid. Now the "liquid" had to win back from a position of strength, demonstrating a confident attack. In turn, the Russian team failed to adapt to the defense, allowing the opponent to get a twofold advantage - 10:5. In the second half, the "dragons" tried to win back, but a series of mistakes helped Team Liquid cope and transfer the series to the third map - 16:13.

Everything was decided on the Ancient map, where Team Spirit started with a confident attack that allowed the team to knock out the minimum advantage — 8:7. After the change of sides, the North American team still tried to impose a tempo, but to no avail. As a result, the "dragons" managed to hold back the opponent, and at the same time knock Team Liquid out of the championship — 16:13.

IEM Rio Major 2022 takes place from October 31 to November 13 in Brazil at the Jeunesse Arena and at the Riocentro convention center. As part of the championship, 24 teams from the CIS, Europe, North and South America, and Asia are fighting for a total prize pool of $1,250,000, ranking points in the BLAST Premier table, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023 for the winner.
