FURIA and 9z will perform at IEM Rio Major 2022

Teams FURIA and 9z got their third wins at the IEM Road to Rio 2022 American RMR, thanks to which they qualified for the upcoming IEM Rio Major 2022. While the Brazilian team made it to the Major with Contenders seeding, 9z is still in pursuit of getting a place at the stage challengers.

According to the results of the fourth round of the competition, the FURIA team was stronger in the paiN Gaming derby with a score of 2:0, while the Latin American team 9z outplayed ATK with a score of 2:0.

Despite the equal number of wins and losses, FURIA will not be able to rise above the fifth place at the IEM Road to Rio 2022 American RMR, having a negative Buchholz coefficient. In turn, the 9z team is currently assigned a score of "3", which gives a high chance to break into the Challengers stage.

IEM Rio Major 2022 will take place from October 31 to November 13 in Brazil at the Jeunesse Arena and at the Riocentro convention center. As part of the championship, 24 teams from the CIS, Europe, North and South America, and Asia will compete for a prize pool of $1,000,000, ranking points in the BLAST Premier table, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023 for the winner.
