Participants of IEM Road to Rio 2022: Asia-Pacific RMR determined

The closed qualifiers in Oceania, Central Asia, China and the Middle East have come to an end, as a result of which the final list of participants in IEM Road to Rio 2022: Asia-Pacific RMR has been formed. We propose to sum up the results of the past qualifiers and introduce the teams that will fight for two tickets to the upcoming Major in Rio de Janeiro.

Oceania

As expected, the winner of the closed qualifier in Oceania was the ORDER team, which on its way managed to beat Encore ESC (2:1), DGG Esports (2:0) and Encore ESC (2:1).

  • 2nd place: Encore ESC
  • 3rd place: DGG Esports
  • 4th place: Rooster

middle Asia

There were also no surprises in the qualifier for Central Asia, as the IHC Esports team became the champion here, beating The MongolZ (2:0), Team NKT (2:0) and again Team NKT (2:1) on its way.

China

Rare Atom became the champion of the closed qualifier in China, which turned out to be stronger than Wings Up Gaming (2:1) during the qualifiers, but then lost to Lynn Vision Gaming (0:2). Nevertheless, the Chinese team made it through the lower bracket, where they first defeated Wings Up Gaming (2:0), and then took revenge on Lynn Vision Gaming (2:0) and earned the right to play at the RMR tournament.

Near East

The winner of the qualifiers in the Middle East was the Israeli team JiJieHao International, which on its way managed to defeat JPB (2:1), NASR Esports (2:1) and again NASR Esports (2:1).

  • 1st place: JiJieHao International - slot at IEM Road to Rio 2022 Asia-Pacific RMR
  • 2nd place: NASR Esports
  • 3rd place: J.P.B.
  • 4th place: Triple 6

IEM Road to Rio 2022 for Asia will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Center in Melbourne. Four qualified teams (one from each sub-region) will play in front of an Australian public from 7 to 9 October.

The Asian RMR tournament will take place in the GSL format, with each match taking place in the BO3 series. The top two teams in the championship will receive Contender status. The remaining teams will not be able to play at IEM Rio Major 2022.


IEM Rio Major 2022 will be held from October 31 to November 13 in Brazil. The first two stages of the championship will be held in a studio format. However, the playoffs of IEM Rio Major 2022, which is scheduled for November 10-13, will be held at the Jeunesse Arena, which can accommodate from 15,000 to 22,000 people. Like at the last Major, the prize pool of IEM Rio Major 2022 will be $1,000,000.
