Complexity Gaming are eliminated from IEM Cologne 2022 Play-In

Add as a Preferred Source

The Astralis team beats Complexity Gaming with a score of 2:0 (Overpass 16:10; Nuke 16:9). Thus, they are approaching the exit to the group stage, and the Complexity Gaming team leaves IEM Cologne 2022 Play-In.

Astralis vs Complexity Gaming

  1. Complexity removed Mirage
  2. Astralis removed Vertigo
  3. Complexity picked Overpass
  4. Astralis picked Nuke
  5. Complexity removed Dust2
  6. Astralis removed Ancient
  7. Inferno was left over

1) The first map of the confrontation started very well for Astralis, at one point they were leading with a score of 7:1 for the defense side on Overpass. However, the Compexity Gaming team decided not to let their opponents go far and got themselves five more rounds. As a result, the half ends with a score of 9:6 in favor of the Danes. After switching sides, the Astralis team takes the second pistol round, and then the force and eco rounds of the opponent. Compelixty Gaming looked good at gun rounds, but only until round number 23. Starting from it, the Americans failed to win a single round, and Astralis finish the map with a winning streak of four rounds. Astralis 16:10 Complexity Gaming.

2) The second map followed an identical scenario. In addition to the fact that Complexity Gaming managed to win one pistol round, but then lost the force round. The Danish team took 9 rounds in the first half, but now they also played for the attacking side of Nuke. This score guarantees a comfortable defense for most professional teams. Astralis skillfully defended and won their pick and the series as a whole. Astralis 16:9 Complexity Gaming.

Astralis will fight against BIG in the final match for the group stage, the loser will leave the championship. Let's see which of the top organizations will go home without reaching the groups.

Complexity Gaming continue their long streak without series or map wins. Complexity took 13th-16th place in the Play-In and 21st-24th place in the tournament, while earning $2,500 per team. Definitely, the team needs reshuffling, I think the management will deal with this issue in the transfer window after IEM Cologne 2022.

IEM Cologne 2022 takes place from 5 to 17 July in Germany at the Hyatt Regency Cologne and LANXESS arena. As part of the championship, 24 teams from Europe, the CIS, Oceania, China, North and South America are fighting for a prize pool of $1,000,000, as well as rating points in the BLAST Premier table.
