The NaVi team outplayed FaZe Clan with a score of 2:1 in a tense match and advanced to the semifinals of IEM Katowice 2022. At the same time, the Astralis team lost to G2 Esports with a score of 1:2 and left the championship.

NAVI - FaZe Clan

The key meeting of group B started on the Overpass map, which became the choice of FaZe Clan. “The hosts” started right off the bat, quickly seizing the initiative in attack. However, closer to the changeover, NAVI players got together and leveled the difference, reducing the gap to one round. A short break was beneficial for FaZe Clan, which once again increased its lead. But even here, "Born to Win" did not want to let the opponent go forward, planning a comeback. Nevertheless, FaZe Clan players managed to win the full economic round, thus taking the lead in the series — 16:13.

Then the teams moved to the Dust 2 map, which became the choice of NAVI. At the same time, the "Born to Win" failed to open up in the attack, finishing the half with only a minimal advantage. However, in the second half, s1mple and the company came up with a way to stop the opponent's attack, thus equalizing the score in the series — 16:12.

Everything was decided on the Mirage map, which for a long time took place in an equal manner. However, in the second half, FaZe Clan players managed to get five match points at once, at some point risking closing all questions. Nevertheless, NAVI managed to make a comeback and bring the fate of the map to overtime, where the team finally put the opponent on the shoulder blades and snatched the victory — 22:19.

Astralis-G2 Esports

The parallel meeting started on the map Ancient, which became the choice of the Danish team. However, the starting advantage completely went to the G2 players, who managed to close the first half with a score of 10:5. Nevertheless, in the second half, Astralis quickly reduced the gap, and after that they pulled out a victory by their own choice - 16:12.

Next, the teams moved to the Dust 2 map, where G2 began to correct the situation. As a result, the team confidently closed the first half, having actually solved all the issues. After switching sides, G2 only strengthened its superiority, thus confidently equalizing the score in the series — 16:5.

Everything was decided on the Inferno map. However, the Danish team ran out of energy too early, as G2 closed half of the defense with even greater superiority, giving the opponent only one round. Well, after the change of sides, NiKo and the company confidently resolved all issues, winning a place in the quarterfinals of the tournament - 16:1.
