Teams fnatic and FURIA lost to Astralis (1:2) and G2 Esports (1:2) respectively, thus leaving IEM Katowice 2022. At the same time, Astralis and G2 Esports made it to the final of the lower bracket of group B, where they will compete for a ticket to the quarterfinals competitions.

Astralis - fnatic

The first meeting of the game day started on the Inferno map, which became the choice of fnatic. At the same time, the “owners”, showing a very frisky start, managed to lose all the advantage before switching sides, letting the Danes in at a distance of one round. The situation for fnatic worsened after the side switch, as Astralis players found themselves in the attack, managing to break away quickly and take the lead in this series - 16:11.

Next, the teams moved to the Overpass map, which became the choice of Astralis. However, the Danes, having won the pistol round, relaxed and paid with a huge series of rounds from fnatic. If at the end of the first half all issues were actually resolved, then after the pistol round won by fnatic, the outcome of the map became obvious. As a result, ALEX and the company gave a decent response at the opponent's pick and went to the destroyer — 16:6.

Everything was decided on the Ancient map, where none of the teams had an advantage. As a result, the Danes managed to close the first half with a minimal lead, leaving big questions about the winner of the meeting. In the second half, the teams continued to trade in a series of rounds, thus going to regular overtime. Here the Danes still managed to take the initiative to knock fnatic out of the tournament — 19:15.

G2-FURIA

The parallel meeting started on the Nuke map, which became the choice of the Brazilian team. Moreover, FURIA started right off the bat, already in the first rounds turning the course of the meeting. And yet, in the end, G2 managed to find their game, reducing the gap to one round. In the second half, the Brazilians again continued to take round after round. But here, too, G2 players managed to adapt to the situation and snatch victory at the enemy pick — 16:13.

Next, the teams moved to the Mirage map, which began with complete dominance by FURIA. Once again, G2 leveled the difference before the switchover, this time taking six rounds. However, in the second half, the Brazilians finally took the initiative into their own hands, and did not allow the opponent to recoup — 16:13.

Everything was decided on the map Inferno, where G2 immediately went forward, showing a series of successful rounds in the attack. Despite the Brazilians' attempt to wake up, G2 managed to withstand the onslaught and gain a twofold advantage before switching sides. In the second half, FURIA did not manage to win back, thus capitulating with IEM Katowice 2022 - 16:10.
