Don't miss the start of Thunderpick Bitcoin Series 2022

In a few hours, Thunderpick Bitcoin Series 2022 will start. The organizers, represented by U Can Company, invited twenty teams that, with the support of the betting company Thunderpick, will compete for a guaranteed prize pool of $75,000. At the same time, the size of the cash prize is equivalent to 1.2 bitcoins, which implies an increase in the prize fund as the cryptocurrency rate rises. Thunderpick Bitcoin Series 2022 Format

Sixteen teams will start their journey from the group stage, which will be played in the Swiss format. Eight best teams following the results of the first stage of the tournament will proceed to the playoffs, where they will form a bracket with a single elimination. The winners of the first round of the playoffs will proceed to the quarterfinals, where they will meet with four invited teams, whose names will be announced later. All matches of the championship will be held in BO3 format.

Group stage rules

The group stage of the championship will be held according to the classical Swiss system. To determine the starting pairs, a standard seeding system was used, which distributed the teams among themselves randomly. For the second round, the teams will be divided into two groups: winners and losers. In this case, the teams will play each other in each group.

In the third round the teams will be divided into three groups: 2:0, 1:1, 0:2. Accordingly, each team will play in its own basket, but only with an opponent that it has not met before. According to the results of this round, two teams will go to the playoffs, while the two losing teams from the lower basket will leave the championship.

In the fourth round the teams will be divided into two groups: 2:1, 1:2. Once again, the teams will play in their basket with those opponents they have not met before. Following the results of the fourth round, three more teams will advance to the playoffs of the championship, as well as three teams will leave Thunderpick Bitcoin Series 2022.

In the final round, each team will be assigned an opponent they have not faced before. Following the results of the fifth round, the three remaining teams will complete the playoff bracket.
