ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022 announced
/Tournament operators DreamHack and ESL have announced the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022. The championship will be held September 2-4 in Australia, hosting eight participating teams. The teams will compete for a prize pool of $ 100,000, ESL Pro Tour points, as well as a ticket to the EPL Conference S17, which will go to the winner of the championship.
For 25 years, DreamHack has been where the gaming community has come to life. Now heading to Australia for the first time in 2022, esports and gaming fans are invited to an unforgettable weekend.
Tickets are expected to go on sale in February.
The tournament will begin with the group stage, during which eight teams will be divided into two quartets. The two best teams from each group will go to the playoffs, where the name of the winner will be determined. All matches, with the exception of the starting matches, will be played in BO3 format. At the same time, the starting meetings will be held in the BO1 format.
The organizers promised to comply with all measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. For this, all applicable security protocols will be followed in order to hold the event in a full-fledged LAN format.
