Memorable for the second day of PGL Major Stockholm 2021 Challengers Stage

Add as a Preferred Source

The second game day at the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 Challengers Stage has ended, as a result of which four teams at once predetermined their fate in the championship. But if FaZe Clan and Copenhagen Flames deserve to get into the next stage of Legends, then for GODSENT and Sharks the Swedish championship has come to an end. However, even without that, the third round presented many interesting stories, some of which are worth refreshing in memory.

Third round of PGL Major Stockholm 2021 Challengers Stage

The game day began with confrontations between teams protected from relegation or promotion. However, the very first game ended as quickly as possible, since Spirit did not notice the resistance of TYLOO, having issued a confident defeat. At the same time, the BIG team played their match, risking the Inferno card and making the right decision, beating the Australians from Renegades.

This was followed by an equally striking match between ENCE and MOUZ, in which ropz and the company were unable to oppose the attack of one of the contenders for reaching the next stage. At the same time, we watched the Mirage map, on which the Russian team Entropiq beat Movistar Riders in class and continued their victorious march.

The most interesting thing remained at the end of the game day, since the first matches for promotion began. And if the victory of FaZe Clan over Virtus.pro did not surprise anyone, then the sensational defeat of Heroic by Copenhagen Flames was a real discovery of the day.

Well, in the evening there were two fights for elimination from the tournament. And if GODSENT never came up with anything against Astralis, then in a parallel match Sharks fought to the last for the right to life. However, paiN turned out to be adamant on the third decisive map, thus getting another chance to show herself in the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 Challengers Stage.

Results of the third round of the Challengers stage:

  • Team Spirit (16 - 3) TYLOO.
  • BIG (16 - 9) Renegades.
  • ENCE (16 - 11) MOUZ.
  • Movistar Riders (12 - 16) Entropiq.
  • Virtus.pro (0 - 2) FaZe Clan.
  • Heroic (1 - 2) Copenhagen Flames.
  • Astralis (2 - 0) GODSENT.
  • paiN Gaming (2 - 1) Sharks Esports.
