Olofmeister on fire
The first graffiti was received by the Swedish player, Olof ‘olofmeister’ Kajbjer. At the semifinal of ESL One Cologne 2014, where Team Dignitas and Fnatic were playing, a very beautiful and unique moment happened. At the 29th round, when the score was 14-14, one of the players from Dignitas, FeTiSh, planted a bomb and ran away. After that he threw an incendiary grenade to make it impossible to disable it. Meanwhile, olofmeister started to defuse a grenade and despite damage from the fire, he continued doing it. In the end olofmeister burnt away at this round but a fraction of a second before that he managed to disable a grenade. If he had stopped and hadn't decided to do it, the round would have been lost, then Dignitas would have made it to the match point and would have been likely to win the game. The community liked this moment so much that Valve decided to make a graffiti to remind about this case. We should also mark that FeTiSh didn't throw the incendiary grenade in the best way which resulted in an advantage for olofmeister and Fnatic.
Meanwhile, Fnatic also didn’t set aside the first case that hadn’t happened before when Valve made a graffiti in honor of the game moment and posted a great movieclip. Everybody liked it and it deserves your attention for sure.
Climb the railing is prohibited!
Olofmeister is a legendary player for sure. The scandal he was involved in was so sensational that Valve couldn’t but add the graffiti in the game and again on Overpass. It is remarkable that olofmeister insisted on adding the second graffiti in CS:GO playing for CT on Overpass as well as in the first case.
The point of the scandal is that the players from Fnatic found a boost that was impossible to counter due to the fact that the player didn’t see his opponents through the texture when, putting it mildly, he was difficult to be noticed. If we look at the rules, this boost wasn’t allowed to be done officially as the rules state that it was restricted to use bugs that let the players see through textures. By the way, the view that was available if looking at this point, could give CT an advantage as they saw whether T would go to point B or were prepared to getting to point А.
As for the origin and finding of this boost, there is an opinion that a youtuber posted a video with this boost and after that Fnatic asked him to delete materials. The reason of the request was that apart from the Swedish, nobody dawned upon to use this boost at the championships at that moment.
At the quarter final DreamHack Winter 2014 on the third map, paying against Team LDLC for T, Fnatic managed to take only three rounds. After that they passed to CT and lost the first round. After that being on the edge of leaving the tournament, the Swedish went to extremes and used their secret weapon — boost. This way they managed to win all the other rounds and won a map by the score of 16-13. The French didn’t like the fact that they having a game with 13-3, they lost it 16-13, and after that they asked for a rematch of the second half of the match due to using of the bug from Fnatic. The organizers agreed that this part should be played again, but Fnatic, shocked by hate to them for their creativity, refusing to take part in the tournament and pulled off it.
After the incident, the Swedish that used the boost got interesting nicknames as boostmeister and olofboost, and the map got an alternative name — de_olofpass.
Later Valve fixed overpass, taking away an opportunity to make this boost, but at that memorable spot they added a graffiti with an inscription “Geländer übersteigen verboten!”, that in German is “It is prohibited to climb the railing!”.
For those who want to see the second part of this map and also the way the boost was used, we recommend watching this video:
Terrorist and 4 AWP
At the 33 round of the grand final of ESL One Cologne 2015 a very interesting case happened at the match between Fnatic and Team EnVyus. The Swedish team decided to surprise their opponents and bought 4 AWP, leaving JW with AK47 alone. This move was risky, but its results was worthy. pronax killed apEX and, despite not very big use from this strategy, but it was accepted as very unstandard. The audience and the commentators were extremely surprised by what Fnatic did at the grand final and also praised the Swedish for their extraordinary thinking.
Valve added graffiti at the respawn T at that position where the players stood. There was depicted a terrorist holding 4 AWP in his hands. Later, when Dust 2 was remade and on 10 October 2017 a new version of this map was released and the graffiti was taken away.
We can add that Fnatic left a large footprint on the sands of esports because the first 3 graffitis in CS:GO were devoted to this team.
Winged AWP on Mirage
The fourth graffiti and the second one where AWP was used appeared on Mirage after an incredible performance from coldzera. At the beginning of 2016, the Brazilian players performing under the tag Luminosity Gaming wasn’t very known by a big audience and its achievements were not so significant as today. At one of the matches coldzera showed that he deserved the title of one of the best players.
At the first Major tournament with $1,000,000, MLG Major Columbus 2016 Team Liquid made it to the semifinal against Luminosity Gaming. On the first map Mirage with the score of 9-15 for Team Liquid, the Brazilians were one round close to losing. When Liquid at the last, it should seem, round decided to go altogether to B and to defeat coldzera who was alone there, Marcelo David could surpass expectations of the audience and surprised their opponents. The representative of LG wasn’t lost and made the first minus using zoom and after that made -2 jumping with no scope and making one more frag using no gunsight. This moment was observed by thousands of viewers and after the semifinal MLG Columbus 2016 the video with coldzera was spread to all esports sources. Valve appreciated this moment as well as the audience and immortalized this highlight making a symbolic graffiti on the map Mirage. Now the spot where coldzera made -4 has a wall where a winged AWP with four red skulls above it is depicted. After the famous -4 made by coldzera, Luminosity Gaming won 9 more rounds in a row and won Mirage by the score of 19-15. By the way, they won this tournament and their money prize was $500,000. It’s impossible to estimate the contribution of the Brazilian in the win of Luminosity in this case.
Interesting fact: after Valve placed this graffiti on Mirage, coldzera got a tattoo with this sign on his right hand.
No-scope in flight
Now it it time to tell about one more legendary moment where Fnatic took part in, but that time the Swedish turned out to be the other side from the barricade. At ESL One Cologne 2016 at the semifinal Team Liquid and Fnatic were fighting with each other. At the 14th round s1mple, representing Team Liquid at that time, left 1 in 2 against dennis and KRIMZ. Being at the plant B, s1mple, jumped down and killed dennis with AWP with no scope. When the audience and the commentators got surprised by this moment, Aleksandr Kostylev surpassed their expectations killing with AWP without gunsight. The second murder was remarkable as KRIMZ was too far from the Ukrainian esportsman and he could just sight to kill his opponent. Instead of that s1mple took a risk and shot with no scope. In the end the risk was worthy and the box of legendary moments in CS:GO was filled one more time. James Bardolph, commenting everything that was happening on the screen, admired this moment so much that called this clutch made by s1mple too good to be legal. Of course, it was a joke but, nevertheless, at that moment s1mple claimed about his skills to the whole world.
Via Adamo
Adam ‘friberg’ Friberg, playing for Ninjas in Pyjamas almost 5 years ago, is known for his aggressive and effective game on “banana” on the map Inferno, thanks to that the street got the corresponding name.
The Swedish esportsman made multikills at this position many times, so Valve decided to add an inscription “Via Adamo” at the renewed Inferno. The phrase is translated as “Adam’s street” from Italian. From 10 October 2016 we could see the sign that refers to friberg.
Four out of five in the video below — are highlights on Inferno and mostly on “banana” that says about the deserved name of the street.
Grenade on 200 IQ from Dosia
This is the name that got a curious case when Dosia managed to outsmart their enemies during the final of PGL Krakow Major 2017, where Gambit Esports opposed to the players from Immortals. On the third map that was Inferno, Gambit dominated over their opponent. WIth the score 9-1, the Brazilians managed to win the second round from the CIS team but Dosia wasn’t lost and managed to compensate it with two taken lives and spoiled economy of the rival. When Immortals put a grenade on А and left 3 in 2 against Gambit and it was clear that Zeus and Dosia that left alone would save weapons that the attack players played passively and hid in the corner to protect themselves from the grenade not going far from the plant. Mikhail Stolyarov read this moment and decided to counter his opponents throwing it to that corner. Leaving 43 and 48 HP to the opponents, Dosia retracted and a few seconds later the grenade exploded leaving less health to the players than they had expected. In the end, only one player was alive out of three player from Immortals and the smart grenade from Dosia helped to cause a big damage to economy from the opponents and to strengthen their domination on the map.
This was something that the audience hadn’t seen before and Sadokist commenting this match was so overwhelmed that it was difficult to explain this move from Mikhail to the viewers.
This moment entertained not only the viewers but also the players. At the moment of explosion, apart from Dosia, LUCAS1 laughed as well, suffered the power of the smart grenade from the Russian esportsman.
After that case Valve added a poster on Inferno, where perfume of the grenade were depicted and there was also an inscription:
‘uno due
“No, non puoi scappare adesso”
PROFUMO
si distingue daali [unclear because of the ripped poster]
a on si dimentica’
From Italian it is translated as:
‘one two
“No, you can’t escape now”
PERFUME
stands out from [unclear because of the ripped poster]
to forget it’
One can conquer alone
The last graffiti appeared on the map in the new mode Valve released for CS:GO. At Intel Extreme Masters Katowice Major 2019 the organizers held a showmatch where the winners would get a special graffiti on Blacksite. The victory was taken by Furlan and GruBy, representing the colors of AGO Esports. AT the end of the match Furlan was left alone against SPUNJ and jks, that represented one team and after that he killed both of them from the roof of Tourist location.
At the spot where Furlan got the win, Valve added a graffiti where we can see autographs of Furlan and GruBy against the background of a wolf symbolizing that the end of the game was won by the Polish without the help of his ally.
