VCT 2021 EMEA Stage 3: NAVI sensation and other results of the first gaming day
/The first game day at VCT 2021: EMEA Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs has ended. In the first round of the playoffs, four meetings took place, which managed to find a place for sensations.
The first sensation came from the CIS team, since NAVI was considered an obvious outsider in the meeting with Team Liquid. However, already on the first map, "Born to Win" were able to shut their mouths to all the skeptics, getting out ahead. And even though the second map went in favor of ScreaM and the company, NAVI managed to crush the favorite and reach the second round of the playoffs - 2: 1.
At the same time, battles unfolded between the Guild and forZe teams. However, already on the first map it became clear that the Swedish team had seriously prepared for the championship. Despite the defeat after the first map, forZe found the strength to fight the opponent on the second map. Nevertheless, the overtime proved to be out of reach for the Russian team, as a result of which Guild recorded the entry into the next round - 2: 0.
The evening events were opened by teams Oxygen Esports and Giants Gaming. However, a sensation awaited us in this confrontation, as the Europeans looked very confused, allowing Oxygen players to show themselves in all their glory. And if on the first map Giants Gaming could not win, then on the second map Davidp's guys showed a real class. Nevertheless, the final victory went to the Turkish team, which showed strength on the Breeze map - 2: 1.
Along the way, FunPlus Phoenix and Fire Flux Esports made their debut. However, here the intrigue was alive only on the first map; after a successful first half, the Turkish team failed to retain the advantage, giving up the lead in overtime. Well, on the second map, the Europeans closed all the questions, thereby gaining the first victory in this championship - 2: 0.
