Giants Gaming and Karmine Corp eliminated from VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo

Another gaming day has ended as part of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo, as a result of which the teams Giants Gaming and Karmine Corp were eliminated from the championship. In the quarter-finals of the "Alpha" bracket, they failed to cope with NRG and LOUD, who, in turn, will now play each other.

NRG-Giants Gaming

The first match of the game day started on the Lotus map, which became the choice of the North American team. However, the players of Giants Gaming seized the initiative on the server at the moment, having managed to finish the half in attack with a twofold advantage — 8:4. After the side switch, the situation turned in the opposite direction, since now it was NRG that dictated the terms and was able to survive until the overtimes. Nevertheless, here the Europeans took their toll and took the lead in the series - 14:12.

Next, the teams moved to the Haven map, which turned out to be the choice of Giants Gaming. However, Chet's wards clearly wanted to improve the situation, which literally took out the opponent and finished the half in attack with a devastating score - 11:1. After the side switch, the Europeans never returned to the game, while NRG quickly reached two rounds and equalized the score on the cards - 13:1.

Everything was decided on the Icebox map, the first half of which went again behind the clear advantage of the North American team — 9:3. After the side switch, Giants Gaming tried to get back into the game, but it turned out to be too late. As a result, NRG scored the second victory in the tournament and advanced to the semi-finals of its bracket — 13:7.

LOUD - Karmine Corp

The next meeting started on the Pearl map, which was chosen by the Brazilian team. At the same time, LOUD players immediately began to dictate their terms on the server, showing an excellent attack. At the same time, Karmine Corp was unable to do anything for the defense, recording a two-fold backlog at the close of the first half — 8:4. After the side switch, the French-Belgian team failed to join the fight, while LOUD confidently finished the game and took the lead in the series — 13:10.

Then the teams moved to the Split map, which turned out to be the choice of Karmine Corp. Nevertheless, the Brazilians once again demonstrated an excellent half in the attack, having managed to catch a two-fold advantage - 8:4. In the second half, Karmine Corp again failed to return to the server, thus allowing LOUD to get a confident victory and go further along the tournament bracket — 13:8.
