KOI And DetonatioN FocusMe Leave VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo

The first gaming day of VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo has ended, as a result of which the teams KOI and DetonatioN FocusMe suffered their first defeats and left the tournament. In turn, NRG and Giants Gaming, as favorites, advanced to the next round of their bracket, where they will meet each other in a few days.

KOI-NRG

The opening match of the tournament began on the Icebox map, which became the choice of the North American team. However, initially the game was in favor of KOI, whose players played confidently in attack and got a powerful advantage - 9:3. However, after the change of sides, there was a coup, which was led by the NRG team and took the lead in the series - 13:11.

The teams then moved on to the Haven map, which turned out to be the KOI's choice. Here the North American team continued to stick to its line to close the first half with a two-fold advantage — 8:4. After the side switch, KOI tried to return to the game, but the opponent was adamant. As a result, NRG was able to put pressure on the Europeans to knock them out of the championship — 13:9.

DetonatioN FocusMe — Giants Gaming

The next meeting started on the Haven map, which turned out to be the choice of the Japanese team. However, in this case, the fans did not see any intrigue, since Giants Gaming played excellent defense and got a two-fold advantage - 8:4. In the second half, DetonatioN FocusMe did not return to the game, while the Europeans won the necessary rounds without a chance and took the lead in the series — 13:4.

Then the teams moved to the Icebox map, which became the choice of Giants Gaming. Here the situation developed in a similar way, since the European team again confidently closed the first half and obtained a twofold advantage - 8:4. After the side switch, the intrigue did not appear on the server, while Giants Gaming finished playing defense without any problems to knock out DetonatioN FocusMe from the tournament — 13:7.
