Ahead of the start: Worlds 2020 starts in just three days
4364This year should be a very special one for League of Legends fans. Riot Games is holding the 10th Worlds Series championship, and they do it offline.
Top 22 teams will compete for the title of champion and an impressive prize pool. Earlier, due to the coronavirus pandemic, two Vietnamese teams dropped out of the tournament: Team Flash and Gam Esports will each receive 2.1% of the total prize pool.
Another notable aspect of Worlds 2020 is the venue. The tournament will be hosted by the unofficial capital of world esports - Shanghai. For the past two years, teams from the Chinese region have become world champions. This was the case with FunPlus Phoenix in 2019 and Invictus Gaming in 2018. This year the stakes are even higher.
