LEC Versus 2026: Karmine Corp Dominates Shifters to Lock Playoff Spot

The final match of today and this game week is Karmine Corp vs Shifters. KC are currently considered one of the strongest teams in the region, and their 6-2 group record and first-place spot before the match indirectly confirm this. Shifters currently hold a dangerous 3-5 record. Now let's move on to the match overview.

Game 1 Picks:

  • Karmine Corp: Rumble, Jayce, Galio, Varus, Alistar
  • Shifters: KSante, Nocturn, Orianna, Sivir, Rakan

The match began with early domination from Karmine Corp, which is very beneficial for their draft. However, it is worth noting that Shifters made mistakes when attempting to kill opponents or moving around the map, which allowed Karmine Corp to pull ahead by 1,000 gold. Shifters managed to reduce this lead slightly thanks to two kills in the bot lane.

By the 20th minute, Karmine Corp continued to build their lead and felt very free on the map. This allowed them to play very aggressively in the enemy bot-side jungle and find three more kills. This helped increase their advantage to nearly 10,000 gold.

At the 28th minute, a fight took place for the Infernal Dragon Soul. Although KC did not execute it perfectly, their advantage was already too great, so even minor mechanical errors did not prevent them from winning the fight and taking the dragon. After this, the lead grew to almost 15,000 gold, leading to the logical conclusion of the match and a victory for Karmine Corp. KC moves to 7-3, securing a playoff spot and the top position in the standings. This victory also helped NAVI lock in their playoff qualification. Meanwhile, Shifters are nearly eliminating their chances of reaching the next stage of the tournament with a 3-6 record.

This year, the LEC Versus 2026 does not provide a cash prize for winning the tournament. Instead, teams are competing for the opportunity to qualify for the international tournament, First Stand 2026. The Regular Season will be held in a Bo1 format where every team faces each other. In total, teams will play 11 matches each, and those with the best results will advance to the playoffs.
