The second match of the third week features SK Gaming vs GIANTX. The teams hold mirror records in the group: SK Gaming 3-5, GIANTX 5-3. And for this match, SK Gaming prepared a very interesting strategy. So let's take a look at how the match went.

Game 1 Picks:

  • SK Gaming: Ryze, Vi, Yone, Yunara, Rakan
  • GIANTX: Rumble, Jarvan IV, Azir, Corki, Rakan

The match was tense from the very first minutes, even though we only saw First Blood at the 16th minute, as the teams were active around the map. Then, at the 16-minute mark, a massive 5v5 brawl broke out. SK Gaming took a successful fight, killing 5 champions in exchange for just Yunara, and secured the Herald. In literally just one fight, SK Gaming managed to earn a 4,000 gold advantage.

After this, there were almost no fights; GIANTX understood they couldn't win them, and SK Gaming didn't take unnecessary risks, playing reliably. They stuck together and focused on objectives, which helped them secure several dragons, slightly increase their gold lead, and build a solid experience advantage.

But at the 27th minute, the SK Gaming jungler got caught out badly, causing the team to lose positioning and the fight, losing five champions and their entire lead. This allowed GIANTX to take their second dragon and Baron.

The final fight took place for the 6th dragon. Here, GIANTX started the fight very well, immediately shutting down Yone, who couldn't deal any damage at all. Unfortunately, Yunara was unable to output enough damage, and SK Gaming lost the fight, and with it, the game. GIANTX secure their 6th win with 3 losses, while SK Gaming earns their 6th loss with 3 wins.
