The second match features Team Heretics vs Karmine Corp Blue. Coming into this series, both teams find themselves in precarious positions in the standings. Team Heretics sit at a 2-5 record, while Karmine Corp Blue are at 1-6. A victory is crucial for Team Heretics to keep their playoff hopes alive. For Karmine Corp Blue, however, a win offers little consolation unless they manage to win out the rest of their games. Let's dive into the match.

Game 1 Picks:

  • Team Heretics: Kennen, Ambessa, Taliyah, Yunara, Rakan
  • Karmine Corp Blue: Renekton, Vi, Azir, Kai`Sa, Alistar

The match started with high aggression from both sides. Both teams applied pressure in lanes to build an advantage. Karmine Corp Blue executed this slightly better, securing two dragons - the first of which fell at the 8-minute mark - and establishing a kill lead. However, despite this, Team Heretics managed to maintain a slight gold lead.

The fight for the third dragon was won by Team Heretics, allowing them to pull significantly ahead in gold and secure the Cloud Dragon. Team Heretics utilized this lead effectively, beginning to pressure KCB across all lanes.

Despite a few errors where TH attempted to force fights and lost several champions, they managed to maintain their lead and secure their second dragon. While the Cloud Dragon isn't typically considered the strongest, it synergizes quite well with Team Heretics' mobile composition.

By the 30-minute mark, KCB played the reactive game perfectly, capitalizing on TH's mistakes to swing the momentum in their favor. However, the back-and-forth nature of the match didn't end there. A fight around Baron flipped the game back in Team Heretics' favor, allowing them to secure both Baron Nashor and the Cloud Soul Point.

The game concluded at the final dragon fight, where Team Heretics secured an ACE, with Yunara claiming a Penta Kill. Thus, Team Heretics improve their record to 3-5, while Karmine Corp Blue, unfortunately for them and their fans, are now eliminated from playoff contention with a 1-7 record.

This year, the LEC Versus 2026 does not provide a cash prize for winning the tournament. Instead, teams are competing for the opportunity to qualify for the international tournament, First Stand 2026. The Regular Season will be held in a Bo1 format where every team faces each other. In total, teams will play 11 matches each, and those with the best results will advance to the playoffs.
